LBC Presenter Fact Checks Nigel Farage's Claim Small Boats Have Made UK More Dangerous For Women And Girls

<div><img src="https://img.huffingtonpost.com/asset/689c3a82170000359363e156.jpeg?cache=jMzzbzI01t&ops=scalefit_630_noupscale" alt="Ben Kentish and Nigel Farage" data-caption="Ben Kentish and Nigel Farage" data-credit-link-back="" data-credit="LBC" />Ben Kentish and Nigel Farage</div><div class="content-list-component text"><p>A presenter on <a href="https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/news/lbc/">LBC </a>delivered a brutal fact check following claims by senior <a href="https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/news/reform-uk/">Reform UK</a> politicians that the small boats crisis means the UK is no longer a “safe haven” for women and girls.</p><p><a href="https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/news/andrea-jenkyns/">Andrea Jenkyns</a>, the party’s mayor of Greater Lincolnshire, claimed she no longer feels safe walking the streets of Britain.</p><p>Her colleague, Reform MP <a href="https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/news/sarah-pochin/">Sarah Pochin</a>, said illegal migrants put women “at risk of sexual assault”.</p><p>Party leader <a href="https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/news/nigel-farage/">Nigel Farage </a>has also claimed that asylum seekers coming to the UK in small boats are a national security risk, and made disputed claims that they are more likely to commit sexual offences than British men.</p><p>But in a monologue on his LBC show, Ben Kentish pointed out that high numbers of sexual offences were taking place in the UK long before the small boats crisis began.</p><p>Referring to Farage, Kentish said: “More and more now, politicians who are on course, if the polls suggest are going to be our next prime minister, try and tell us that Britain was a ‘safe haven’ for women and girls before the small boats started coming.<
